Dental bridge: Everything you need to know

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing or broken teeth with fake teeth. Bridges use one or more real teeth on either side of the gap to hold the fake teeth in place.

What is a dental bridge?

We provide orthodontic care for both children and adults. Our patients have the option to choose from traditional braces, clear braces, or INVISALIGN. We value a team approach and will work closely with your general dentist to help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile.

Conditions that we treat include:

  • Crowding
  • Gaps or Spacing
  • Overbite or Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Deep bite or Open bite

In the past, orthodontic treatment was often postponed until the adolescent years, when all the permanent teeth came into the mouth. We now know that many orthodontic problems can be treated earlier and much easier by working with the growth that takes place in younger children. We follow the American Association of Orthodontists’ recommendation that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7, or earlier if a problem is detected.

ADULTS

Beautiful, healthy smiles are possible for almost anyone. The biological process of tooth movement is the same in adults and children. It’s the condition of a person’s teeth, gums, and supporting bone that is the most important element in deciding whether or not to begin treatment. Properly aligned teeth are not only easier to clean, they can go a long way to improving a person’s self-esteem and confidence.

Uses

Our doctors work closely with Align Technology lab to create custom-made Invisalign® aligners to straighten your teeth. Every 2 weeks, you will have a new set of upper and lower aligners that will gradually transform your smile. These Invisalign® aligners move your teeth incrementally, and should be worn 20-22 hours per day. Remove them only during meals, and for brushing and flossing.
